Welcome
The 21st International Conference on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR2026) will be hosted by Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom from 23-26 June 2026.
The 4-day event is aimed at exploring advancements in Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) techniques and applications. A wide range of high-quality scientific and technical information will be presented, relevant for scientists, engineers, and end-users of GPR technologies from academia and industry.
The conference will focus on the following themes of GPR research, development and application:
- Advanced data/image processing algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI)
- Archaeology and cultural heritage
- Engineering and geotechnical, e.g. utility detection, road and pavement inspection, concrete evaluation, NDT, tunnelling and mining
- Geological, e.g. geology, sedimentology, seismology, Earth structure, hydrogeophysics
- Earth/extraterrestrial environments e.g. climate, cryosphere, planetary exploration, satelite and airborne remote sensing comparisons and cal/val campaigns, soil contamination
- Modelling e.g. forward modelling techniques, inversion methodologies, model development, comparisons and validation
- Novel developments in GPR systems and antennas
- Security applications, unexploded ordnance and landmine detection
We look forward to welcoming you to Northumbria University and Newcastle upon Tyne!
Kind regards,
GPR2026 organising committee
